Reach Higher Montana, through its work as Student Assistance Foundation, has been helping educators plan FAFSA events for more than a decade. At Reach Higher Montana College Goal events, formerly College Goal Montana, students and parents receive free, one-on-one assistance completing the FAFSA from counselors and other knowledgeable volunteers.
The FAFSA for the 2017-2018 school year will be available October 1,2016. Income information to complete the FAFSA will come from the 2015 tax return. The change in timing in intended to simplify FAFSA completion and provide families with financial aid information sooner. Be sure to complete and submit the FAFSA by December 1. That’s the priority deadline for most Montana schools, except the University of Montana, whose priority deadline is November 15.
